Body Cameras are continuously becoming more and more popular in today's society to the point where particular models have been optimised for public use. Over the years body cameras weren't commonly seen due to the technology being so expensive and thus, not suited for the budget of a police force. Since then, dash cameras have evolved and in turn, so have body worn video cameras through the means of enhanced battery consumption, spectacular video quality, night vision and GPS availability. As such, police, government organisations and firefighters (to name a few) will eventually include the body camera to their standard gear kit.
The cameras can enable officers to prove what really happened in situations of inscrutability and ultimately are a great source of evidence, protecting both the officer and the citizen. They can be used for training new recruits and reflecting on actions that could have been improved in unsavory situations, while also helping in court battles over certain laws such as resisting arrest if the accuser disputes the claim.
At OverWatch Security we have two lines of cameras for police and security personnel: 'EH' & WZ'. Alternatively we also retail cameras for the public such as the PocoCam (also used as a spy pocket camera) and the ES line.
Our EH150 cameras include in-built memory with two options to choose from: 32GB or 64GB. They offer top of the range features and are our highest quality cameras available due to their exceptional resolution and outstanding durability in rough conditions. This specification can be supported by its IP65 rating: "Protected against high pressure water jets from any direction."
They also include a CMOS sensor with a professional and top of the range Ambarella A7 chipset which provides the user with an amazing 1296P video recording resolution. "Ambarella is a leading developer of low-power, high-definition (HD) and Ultra HD video compression and image processing solutions." The cameras also feature GPS support, motion detection, built-in microphone support and a wide 140 degree angled lens to accompany the Ambarella chipset. It's also equipt with IR night vision (with 10m face detection) and a 6-11 hour battery life depending on recording resolution which can be switched.
The EH150 includes advanced security and design features with the highlight being the 5-digit device ID (to recognise and match the unit) and a 6-digit police encryption ID with administrator passwords. This makes sure that the videos aren't being accessed by the wrong hands!
External camera support is also available on the EH150 which allows the use of an external mini camera, however this is sold separately and only if demanded. Following on to our 'WZ' line, we have two lower budget police grade body cameras available.
The 'WZ' cameras all feature a front facing LED and a wireless remote control with options to start recording, stop recording and photo taking. Once the camera starts recording a red light will continue to blink on the front of the device until the recording stops. This is a unique design feature and is required by some government organisations so that the person is aware that they are being recorded. It can also deter them from deciding to attack the government representative in situations where the person is being evicted, cars being towed or for sorting out neighborhood disputes. Both cameras has micro-SD slots and support up to 32GB of memory.
The WZ50 is the more affordable solution for average officer, simply providing 1080P recording resolution with an automatic night vision feature. This automatic night vision feature detects when the night becomes dark or when the officer enters a dark rooms and automatically switches to IR mode. It also comes with a complete waterproof housing kit used for extreme conditions, to keep your camera clean, to submerge the camera in great depths and to prevent the camera from breaking. The WZ60 includes two removable batteries and an external full 1080P mini camera. This allows you to clip the WZ60 to your waist and run the mini camera around the back to the shoulder position or elsewhere. It includes GPS functionality and night vision support which can be activated from the press of a button. Please click here for more information.
For all the body cameras we have on offer, OverWatch Security can provide free custom logo printing based on an order quantity of a minimum of 50 units. Logo printing is perfect for recognition of per state police gear or to which organisation they belong to.
